NEWS FROM THE CORE THEMES
Following their meeting in Prague in December 2008, the members of the CA EPBD met again in Berlin in June 2009, towards the end of the Czech Presidency of the EU.Since the beginning of this year, a growing number of countries having valuable practical experience of certification and inspection schemes, so the most recent exchanges have focussed on effective, practical operational issues, including:
- Public awareness and reaction to the energy performance certificate
- Impact, compliance and control mechanisms currently applied in the countries
- Enhancement of exisitng inspection schemes for boilers and air-conditiing systems
- Accreditation of experts and codes of conduct in their daily professional practice
- Analysis of detailed procedural requirements to address complex technical issues in buildings
With the summer recess behind, the key outcomes and future directions arising from the exchange of experience are currently being compiled and are due for release shortly.
